best ways to advertise adult content online

One of the things we noticed from running a Facebook group of 13,000 creators from platforms like OnlyFans AdmireMe, Premium Snap and webcamming, was that one of the most frequent issues that our members faced was losing patience when not seeing incredible success immediately upon starting their journey.

In this article we are going to explain how to stay motivated on OnlyFans and similar sites, and how often to post on your OnlyFans page in order to steadily build your success.

Are You A Creator Looking To Meet Other Creators?

Are you ready to start arranging share-for-shares, like-for-likes, and follow-for-follows to boost your profile’s engagement and get seen by thousands of potential new subscribers?

How to stay motivated on OnlyFans

In our Facebook group, which was eventually deleted at 13k by the platform (it seems as though they really don’t like the adult community!) we were regularly seeing posts by new creators who were expressing their frustration at not getting many, or any, subscribers to their new OnlyFans page.

The reality is – you shouldn’t expect instant success, and it is COMPLETELY NORMAL to start off slowly, or in some cases… extremely slowly. You might have seen some news articles about creators who went from $0 to tens-of-thousands of dollars in monthly earnings overnight, but the truth is that these sort of success stories are rare… not to mention the fact that some of them won’t even be true!

Firstly, a lot of these success stories came from early 2020, maybe even before then. OnlyFans was a lesser known platform back then, and there wasn’t much competition. This meant that the models who were early to the platform had it so much easier… they had the whole market share to themselves.

Over time, and during the pandemic in particular, OnlyFans and similar sites like AdmireMe BOOMED. The number of creators increased astronomically over night, and as a result, the competition for each buyers’ money has increased dramatically too. That doesn’t mean you can’t achieve success; you can. It just means it’s a little more difficult now than it was a year+ ago.

It is also worth noting that many of these success stories will come from models who already had a big social media following. If you have a social media platform with tens of thousands of followers, it’s much easier to get subscribers from day 1 than it would be for someone just starting out. That’s just stating the obvious – announcing to 50k followers with one simple post that you are now selling nudes on OnlyFans is much easier than putting the word out to virtually no audience to begin with. You just have to work that much harder to begin with to get yourself out there.

Another notable point about these ‘instant success stories’, is that they aren’t always even true! Look at the world of social media – people love to lie, exaggerate, and portray false images. Some of the models who claim to make $20,000 a month won’t actually be doing so.

Some people like the sound of bragging about their success, but without the proof, you have to take such claims with a pinch of salt. Of course, some creators really do make a fortune – but don’t just believe every ‘brag’ just simply because they said it’s true.

By saying these things, we don’t want to deter you from joining OnlyFans or AdmireMe – you really can make great money on these platforms. However we noticed a large number of new creators really getting downbeat by their lack of instant success because they are comparing themselves to the most elite success stories that they’ve come across.

So how can a new creator start building their success on OnlyFans or other adult platforms?

Tips for new OnlyFans creators to stay motivated!

One thing that is worth noting for new OnlyFans models and new AdmireMe models, is that when people visit your page, they can see how many photos, videos, and likes you’ve got. This is great as once you build your page engagement up, visitors to your profile will see that you are an active creator who is worth the subscription fee!

However, it does mean that at first when you are just starting out, if you don’t have much content on there, or many likes, then your profile will look new. This can deter potential buyers from subscribing since they might opt to subscribe for an account that has more content on it (unless of course they have extra reason to like yours specifically!)

(NOTE: If you want to meet other adult creators to arrange like-for-likes, share-for-shares, follow-for-follows etc, then check out OUR FREE CREATORS ONLY NETWORK where you can chat with other creators, ask questions, arrange mutual engagement boosts, and much, much more!)

What this means is that as a new creator on OnlyFans or AdmireMe, you should look to upload as much content as possible when you first start your page. Don’t just upload a few pieces and expect the buyers to flock in – try uploading 20-30 pieces to begin with so that potential subscribers can see that they are getting value for money as soon as they land on your page.

On AdmireMe, we advise that if possible, you upload 50 pieces of content at the beginning, or at least as soon as possible, because once you have 50 pieces you will start showing up in search results on their homepage – providing that you have tagged your pieces of content with relevant tags.

This tagging and homepage search feature is one of the biggest advantages of using AdmireMe, and something worth considering if you are conducting an OnlyFans vs AdmireMe investigation to see which site is better for you.

How often should you upload on new content?

Once you have uploaded your initial pieces of content to get your account started, you should then look to upload multiple times per week (at least 2-3 times), in order to demonstrate that your account is active and worth subbing to.

We have written an article on How Often Should I Upload On OnlyFans Or AdmireMe that explains this in more detail, however if you haven’t got time to read it right now, then keep the 2-3 times per week as a bare minimum target.

Remember, as potential new subscribers look around your page, even before signing up they will be able to see that your new posts are there, even though they will be protected by your paywall to stop them from actually seeing the content itself. This means they can see that something new was posted on X date, and X date before that etc – so they can easily see how often you make new posts. The more often you do, the more likely they are to subscribe!

What happens if you still don’t make money straight away?

The reality is, no matter how much content you upload at first, it won’t necessarily always lead to instant success. There are so many other factors such as how much traffic are you able to send to your page from social media, how much you are charging per month, and how you are advertising your page across other sites and platforms.

Being successful on OnlyFans or other adult platforms takes effort, time, and an ongoing commitment to making money. It is not a get-rich-quick scheme, and once you begin your journey you should treat it like any other job.

Create good quality content, spend hours every day putting your link out across social media, dating sites etc, and meet other creators in our free Members Section to start building your profile’s engagement for free.

It’s a long process and you should expect to work hard for little financial returns at first. Keep being consistent, keep learning, and then eventually you might actually be the next success story that people are reading about!

Good luck, Snexworkers!
